Daneben ist ein Bug, der für unvollständige Downloads verantwortlich war, in der neuen BitComet Version entfernt worden. Das K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.59 enthält eine Fülle verschiedener Codecs zum De- und Encodieren von Video- und Audio-Dateien. In der neuen Version gibt es eine Reihe von Aktualisierungen wie DivX Pro 6.2.2 (Downgrade), Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0. (Revision 611) und ffdshow. Hinzugefügt wurde der “DCoder MP3 Source filter” in Version 1.3.

Entfernt wurden Codecs wie 3ivX, On2 VP3, MS MPEG-4 und DivX 3.11, da diese alle mit ffdshow abgespielt werden können. Das Programm aktualisiert bzw. deinstalliert Codecs, wenn notwendig, so dass es nicht zu Komplikationen im System führt. Der x264 Codec wurde auf Revision rev564 erhöht und die QuickTime Komponente auf Version 7.1.3.100 aktualisiert.

Das Codecpack Real Alternative wurde jetzt vom Entwickler in der Version 1.51 veröffentlicht. Das Codepack stammt aus der selben Softwareschmiede wie auch das K-Lite Codecpack und ersetzt den original Real Player Codec vollständig, hat aber nur den Bruchteil der Größe des Originals.

Mit im Codecpack wird der Media Player Classic (MPC) in der aktuellsten Version mitgeliefert. MPC ist ein guter Ersatz des Windows Media Players und ermöglicht es, RealMedia-Formate wiederzugeben. Das Real Alternative Codecpack gibt es auch in einer Lite-Version, die ohne den MPC zum Download angeboten wird.

eMule Plus ist ein Mod des bekannten Filesharingclient eMule, der auf das eDonkey 2000 Netzwerk zugreift, in dem vor allem Videos und komplette Musik-Alben getauscht werden. Der Mod steht nun in der Version 1.2a zum Download bereit.

eMule Plus bietet für eingefleischte Profis eine Unmenge an Einstellmöglichkeiten, zudem ist die Oberfläche klar und übersichtlich strukturiert. Manchem Puristen wird sie etwas verspielt vorkommen. Der Client ist Open Source und enthält keine Spy- oder Adware.
