Die neue Version unterstützt die uTorrent-eigene WebUI zur Fernsteuerung des Clients. uTorrent unterstützt mehrere gleichzeitige Downloads (Multiple simultaneous downloads) und die schnelle Aufnahme abgebrochener Downloads (Quick-resumes for interrupted transfers), zeitgesteuerte konfigurierbare Bandbreitennutzung (Configurable bandwidth scheduler), globale oder individuelle Limitierung der Geschwindigkeit per Torrent (Global and per-torrent speed limiting) sowie die von Azureus und Bittorrent bekannte Unterstützung trackerloser Torrents DHT (Trackerless support Mainline DHT). Per RSS Feed Downloader (RSS Downloader) lassen sich downloads automatisieren.

Neben einigen kleineren Bugfixes und Verbesserungen an der grafischen Oberfläche wurden in BitComet 0.84 einige Anpassungen am Core vorgenommen, die eine hohe Prozessorlast vermeiden sollen. eMule Plus ist ein Mod des bekannten Filesharingclient eMule, der auf das eDonkey 2000 Netzwerk zugreift, in dem vor allem Videos und komplette Musik-Alben getauscht werden. Der Mod steht nun in der Version 1.2b zum Download bereit.

eMule Plus bietet für eingefleischte Profis eine Unmenge an Einstellmöglichkeiten, zudem ist die Oberfläche klar und übersichtlich strukturiert. Manchem Puristen wird sie etwas verspielt vorkommen. Der Client ist Open Source und enthält keine Spy- oder Adware.

LimeWire ist einer der beliebtesten Filesharing Clients für das Gnutella Netzwerk und bietet alle gängigen Funktionen aktueller Tauschbörsen. Die knapp 2,5 MB große Installation ist selbsterklärend und nach der Installation unterstützt ein Assistent die Konfiguration des Programms. Limewire kann ohne weitere Einstellungen oder Vorbereitungen gestartet werden.

Die Oberfläche ist einfach und intuitiv zu bedienen und mit Hilfe von Proxies kann der Benutzer teilweise anonym downloaden. Der integrierte Medienplayer spielt .ogg und .mp3 Dateien ab. Der Client ist in Java geschrieben und läuft deshalb auf fast jedem Betriebsystem. In LimeWire befindet sich seit den neuen Versionen keine Adware und Spyware mehr. In den aktuellen Versionen enthält LimeWire Filtersoftware, die nicht lizensierte Dateien aus den Suchergebnissen entfernt. Die auf dem OpenSource-LimeWire aufbauende Alternative FrostWire enthält diese Filter noch nicht.
