Nachdem der bekannte Tracker IsoHunt einige Tage offline war, ist die Seite jetzt über einen kanadischen Provider wieder online gegangen. Nach dem Wechsel IsoHunts zu einem amerikanischen Provider war die Seite offline genommen worden. Die Betreiber des Trackers machten die MPAA für diese Aktion verantwortlich.

Die Torrentsuche scheint bereits wieder in Ordnung zu sein, die Betreiber weisen allerdings darauf hin, dass der komplette Index noch nicht wiederhergestellt werden konnte.

Nachdem wir vor kurzem berichteten, dass es einer Hackergruppe um muslix64 gelungen war mit dem Tool BackupHDDVD die Sicherheitsmechanismen von HD-DVDs zu umgehen, sind nun in diversen Tauschbörsen die ersten HD-DVD-Filme illegal zum Download angeboten worden. Darunter unter anderem die Actionfilme “Pitch Black”, “The Chronicles of Riddick” und “Batman Begins”, die trotz AACS-Kopierschutz entschlüsselt und über die Tauschbörse Bittorrent im Internet verteilt wurden.

Auch im Chungo.net Forum haben in letzter Zeit wieder viele User Hilfe gesucht, um Torrents endlich fertigstellen zu können, die bei 99,9% stehenblieben. Viele Benutzer wissen gar nicht, das es auch gefälschte Torrents gibt, die sich niemals zu 100% herunterladen lassen. Neben dem Ärgernis der verschenkten Bandbreite dürfte den Torrentuser vor allen Dingen ärgern, das er auf einen der Fake-Torrents der MPAA hereinfiel. Der gestern neu erschienene Bittorrentclient BitTyrant, dürfte neue Maßstäbe im Torrent Downloaden setzen. Der auf Azureus basierende Client weist durch einen intelligenten Algorithmus die eigene Bandbreite (verfügbare Upload-Rate) denjenigen Peers zu, welche selbst eine schnelle Downloadrate haben. Das optimiert für jede Downloadquelle den zugewiesenen Upload auf den Wert, mit dem die beste Downloadrate erzielt werden kann. Laut Entwicklern erreicht BitTyrant, verglichen mit Azureus, bis zu 70% bessere Download Performance.

Trotz der Versionsnummer 1.0 warnen die Entwickler davor, dass der Client noch “buggy” sein könnte. BitTyrant wird als OpenSource veröffentlicht und steht für Windows, Linux und Mac OS X zur Verfügung.
